This week, we've been discussing about 'learning'. Now we know why we need to learn and why it is important. Here is a photo of us 'learning'.

The Snake Cake

This week, Miss An and Room 13 students made a movie about the book that we read 2 weeks ago. The book is called 'The Snake Cake' and it is about the Queen who wants a special cake for her birthday party. We really enjoyed making the movie. It was really fun and we can't wait to watch it!!!

Learning @ School ICT Conference 2007

Last week has been very busy, but at the same time, very special for me. The ICT Conference took place in Rotorua for 4 days. To attend the conference as a member of ICT team, I could not be in my class for the whole week. I had to attend seven workshops (5 breakouts/2 spotlights) during the "Learning at School 2007" programme. Some of them were very useful and really inspired me. My favourite workshop was the one about ‘Digital Learning Centres’. The presenter was Justine Driver who is the deputy principal at Bucklands Beach Primary School. She started the presentation by showing how the learning centres in her class used to look like. Then, she showed ‘Digital Learning Centres’ that she has made using PowerPoint. It seemed very simple to make, but very effective. I think it is now my job to try out the different things that I’ve learnt there and share them with other staff members, so they understand the importance of teaching ICT and also how to teach ICT effectively.

The Snake Cake

We've been reading a book called 'The Snake Cake" and today, we made a real snake cake using biscuits, green icing, strawberry jam and M&M's. We really enjoyed making it and it tasted very nice.
